“I’m finally gonna give you guys what you’ve always wanted.” People on the internet have been demanding it for years. YouTube sensation Tristan Jass has finally answered the call. Sure enough, he is one of the biggest basketball content creators in the world. But is he good enough to play in the NBA? Well, we finally have the answer to that question as the YouTuber recently tried out for the G League, hoping to fulfill his NBA dream.

Breaking the news to his 5.56 million subscribers through a YouTube video, T Jass revealed that he is going to try out for the Windy City Bulls, a G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls. However, he understood that it was going to be a tough challenge because the highest level of basketball he has played is High School Varsity, and he would be going head-to-head against players who are in the gym daily while he is busy creating content.

“They’re gonna be coming after me. It’s not gonna be easy. Gonna be playing against some grown men that have worked their whole lives to get a try out.” He remarked. Therefore, Jass decided to dedicate the next five days to preparing for the tryout and sharpening his skills. But addressing why he has not tried out for the NBA before like his fans wanted, Tristan said, “I had to be realistic with myself. I’m 5’9. You don’t see a lot of 5’9 dudes in the NBA.”

Yes, while he is a solid player with a versatile skillset and a deep bag of circus layups, T Jass’ lack of length would prove a massive hindrance in his NBA aspirations as the league’s average height is 6’6. But on popular demand, he finally decided to give it a go. And he was looking forward to the opportunity, “Feeling good. I’m feeling ready. I’m feeling confident.” Sure enough, he stunned everyone with his performance!

“You look at Kobe. Mamba Mentality. In his workouts, he was going faster than game speed.” In the video, Jass channeled his inner Kobe Bryant to give it his all during practice. And that did wonders for him during D-Day. In his latest YouTube video, he shared the entire experience of his G League tryout with the Windy City Bulls. As he entered the gym, he noticed one glaring weakness, “Might be the smallest guy in here.” Yes, everyone present had a distinct advantage over the content creator.

However, with the team’s GM and Head Coach watching, the height disadvantage did not stop T Jass from balling out and taking over practice. First, he did a brilliant job during all the drills and even shot a perfect 10 of 10 in a mid-range shooting drill. And when it came time for scrimmages, Jass pulled out all the moves from his bag be it his playmaking skills or his elite shooting.

When the team’s GM was asked to assess the YouTuber’s game, he had high praise for Tristan, “From what I’ve been watching, you can tell he kind of takes the initiative of being a leader on the court… He also gives a lot of effort too… Another thing about him is if he’s open, he’ll make an open shot. I think that’s one thing we value especially in the G League is the guys who can make an open shot.”

Sure enough, Jass’ impressive performance translated to wins as his team went undefeated in all four games during the try out. Whether his NBA dream comes true or not, Tristan surely proved that he can hang with the best young athletes on the hardwood. What are your thoughts?
