There is good news for Hawks fans! Trae Young is ready to roll. After being listed as ‘probable’ because of Achilles tendinitis, the star guard has been cleared to play Wednesday night. Despite dealing with the nagging issue, Ice Trae has remained a key piece for Atlanta, continuing to lead the NBA in assists while keeping the offense flowing.

Over the last five games, he’s been a passing maestro, averaging an eye-popping 13.8 assists per game to go along with 17 points and 4.2 rebounds. However, his efficiency has taken a hit, as he’s shooting just 40.3% from the field and 29.7% from deep in that span.

Even with the dip in scoring, his ability to facilitate has been crucial for a Hawks offense that ranks 7th in offensive rebounding and 8th in free-throw rate but sits in the middle of the pack in points per possession and shooting efficiency, per Cleaning the Glass.

Even when his shot isn’t falling, ‘Ice Trae’ remains one of the most dangerous point guards in the league, orchestrating plays and finding open teammates at an elite level.

And that in itself is a reason for Atlanta’s impressive record now.
