Since Kevin Durant‘s exit from the Warriors, many have questioned his legacy. After a flop stint with the Nets and an uninspiring last season with the Suns, Durant often finds himself under a barrage of questions. Was he carried by Steph Curry? Did he win the chips for being with a generational Warriors side? Can he ever replicate the success on his own? And these questions popped up time and again for anyone to suspect if there’s a hint of spite between the two.

The duo now serve the same cause for Team USA for the upcoming Paris Olympics and so far things have looked smooth between the two. To put the lingering doubts about their bond to rest, Kevin Durant chose social media to be the representation of his voice and threw a softball at his 21 million X followers.

Kevin Durant shared a picture of him and Curry smiling together in a behind-the-scenes snap. The former Warriors teammates were seen flaunting their beaming smiles with Durant captioning the picture “Quick question. Is this miserable or happy kd??” Steph Curry clicked the pre-presser selfie and the two attended it together as well.

Durant enjoyed two successful seasons with the Warriors before things went south in his third season. KD’s tensions with Draymond Green contributed to his exit and since then, he has been on the hunt for success. In 2022, the Warriors added another piece of hardware to their trophy case, but KD bounced around the playoffs with two first-round exits and a conference semifinal loss to the Bucks in 2021. Even this off-season, there were rumors linking Durant with a move back to the Bay Area. But given the financial constraints and the history between him and the franchise, that seems unlikely. But for now, the two-time NBA Finals MVP is focused on winning his fourth Olympic Gold.

Kevin Durant focused on returning to fitness ahead of the Paris Olympics tip-off

Kevin Durant is gathering public interest over his ongoing calf trouble. The forward failed to appear in any of Team USA’s exhibition games. As things stand, there are doubts over his participation in the opening game against Serbia on July 28. But Kevin Durant participated in today’s 5-on-5 at Team USA’s practice, which is a good sign. Steve Kerr allegedly pushed the Slim Reaper’s return as he was set to feature in the London exhibition games, but now a mid-Olympic return looks like a possible timeline for KD’s on-court return.

Steve Kerr already clarified that he never thought about leaving KD behind before heading off to Paris. “Each day is getting better. Another intense practice today, and we’ll see how I feel,” Durant told EssentiallySports. Despite the 5-0 record during the exhibition games, Team USA looked far from the expected best as they edged out close games against Australia, South Sudan and Germany. Hence, KD’s experience and expertise will surely be invaluable to the starting 5 of the team once he’s clear for selection.
