Stephen Curry has been playing a very important role in all Golden State Warriors games this season. The All-Star point guard is the only player amongst the Warriors to put up over 20 points in a game this year. In stark contrast to this is that others have an average 4 players per team. His lowest this season was 21 points against the Sacramento Kings.
Many fans and analysts raised concerns about this one-man show by Curry. And now, it seems like things have taken a turn for the worse. Steph struggled last season with injuries, missing 56 games and the demons are back to plague him again.

During Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the 4x NBA champion sustained soreness in the right knee. It all went down when he made a bad landing after a layup in the second half of the game. Anthony Slater from The Athletic has reported that because of this, his participation in the next home game against Minnesota is questionable.

With this sudden development, the chances of a win for the Warriors seem even bleaker. In all of their six wins, Curry has an average of 32 points per game. It goes on to prove that the team relies on Curry to have a decent shot at winning. After Sunday’s loss, Draymond Green acknowledged their over-dependence on the Golden Boy. He even promised to do better in his role of organizing the team. Now would be a good time for the veteran forward to make good on his promises.

For the 2023-24 season, Chef Steph has been averaging 30.7 points with 4.6 rebounds and 3.9 assists while shooting 48.8% from the field. Their next best, Klay Thompson has an average of just 16.1 points with 3.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists. Veterans Chris Paul and Draymond Green together have a combined 18.1 points.
Andrew Wiggins, who has been struggling since the start has just 10.5 points. Despite coach Steve Kerr’s vote of confidence in the 28-year-old, things do not look hopeful for Wiggs. While it may be too soon to predict the postseason outcome, the team cannot be struggling this early in the season. Curry has been giving his best. It is now time for the Warriors to seriously work on their offense and rethink some strategies.
