Golden State Warriors star player Stephen Curry recently sent a wave of worry around the NBA world. During a recent game against the Chicago Bulls, the player injured his ankle during the fourth quarter and had to opt out for the rest of its duration. To not worsen his injury, Curry did not return for the next three games, two of which his team ended up losing. With the Warriors placed as the 10 seed and the playoffs approaching fast, fans have been hoping for the player to return and bring the team back on track.

The official X account of ‘95.7 The Game’ recently uploaded a clip from their recent episode. During the same, the hosts highlighted an update from the latest Injury Report, revealing that Stephen Curry “is making good progress, he’s been cleared to resume on-court workouts in the Bay Area and is expected to join the team for practice in LA on Friday”. This would supposedly place the player on a good track to play against the Lakers on Saturday. The hosts then proceeded to ask medical expert Dr. Nirav Pandya for his opinion regarding the same. The latter indicated that the Warriors should be counting their lucky stars over this news.

“They absolutely dodged a bullet,” said Dr. Pandya. “The fact that he was reevaluated very quickly after his injury…. that’s a very positive sign”.

The host then proceeded to ask the expert whether Curry’s recent injury would be less severe than his previous ones since he has sprained his ankle so many times. Dr Pandya agreed and provided his own analysis on the same. “Even though you may be at a risk to sprain it (ankle) more, how bad they are each time they happen are less severe”.

Just as it was highlighted above, Stephen Curry is no novice when it comes to ankle injuries. Given that the player has been a point guard for the Warriors for almost 15 years now, his history with this issue is as long and tedious as his career.

Curry’s problem with his ankle dates back to his rookie season in 2010. The then young player was forced to miss the very first game with the Warriors after developing a left ankle sprain. As the injury started to act up in the midst of the season, Curry had to opt for surgery and miss out on an additional eight games. The situation didn’t improve in the next season, as the future NBA champion ended up spraining his ankle twice in seven days. Stephen Curry’s presence has been a motivating factor for the Warriors for quite some time now.

With good news on the horizon, both players and fans hope that the 36-year-old will make a quick return and prevent himself from doing any further damage for the duration of the season.
