“He’s been banged up the last week. His knees have been bothering him, so this wasn’t a surprise,” Steve Kerr had said this about Stephen Curry last week. Curry was a game-time decision for Saturday’s contest after missing the Warriors‘ last game against the Thunder because of a knee injury. However, he didn’t sit out without some optimism. The Splash Bro inspiringly practiced all week, and coach Steve Kerr seemed confident about his chances of playing.

If you’re a Warriors fan, you’re probably breathing a little easier knowing Curry will be back on the floor. After all, it’s hard to imagine Golden State’s offense without him lighting it up. Let’s hope Kerr’s optimism proves to be right—this team is definitely even better when Curry’s in action!

The Bay Area veteran has been a steady presence this season, missing just three games before the OKC blip—and the Warriors won all the 3 matchups initially. He’s been averaging 22.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game, so he’s clearly still got it.

Helping him on the court would be his 2022 All-Star teammate, Andrew Wiggins. Wiggs’ workout was closely monitored, even more so than Curry’s, with a focus on testing his ankle’s lateral movement. After the assessment, he was cleared to play against Phoenix.

But this Saturday’s matchup is crucial for both teams. The Suns are in a bit of a tailspin, having dropped seven of their last nine games, while the Warriors haven’t exactly been on fire either, losing their last three. It’s a big moment for both star squads, looking to get back on track and snap out of their slump. You can bet it’s going to be a high-stakes, intense showdown!

Most likely Jonathan Kuminga will come off the bench for Saturday’s game against the Suns after making a start on Wednesday against the Thunder. He’s probable for this matchup. In that game, he had an impressive 19 points, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals in 28 minutes. However, with the Splash Bro back from his knee issue, Kuminga will be bumped to a reserve role.

As for Gary Payton II, he’s also probable for the game, dealing with some right adductor tightness. Barring any setbacks, it seems like he’ll suit up. Over the past five games, Payton has played double-digit minutes in three of them, averaging 5 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists while shooting 54.5% from the field. Gui Santos is out for the game as he’s on assignment in the G League.

After struggling the past couple of seasons, Wiggins is finally hitting his stride again. Through 16 games, Wiggins has stepped up, averaging 17.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.3 assists. His efficiency is noticeable too, with 46.3% from the field and 41.0% from three. Looks like the hoopster’s finally shaking off those tough years and getting back to his old form.

The Warriors have been solid on the road, posting a 7-3 record in their first 10 away games. Meanwhile, the Suns have managed a 6-4 record in their 10 home games in Arizona. It’s been a while since these two teams have squared off—back in February of the 2023-24 season, to be exact. This matchup should definitely be an exciting one!
