The Lakers pulled the handbrake at the right time before they could crash. Yesterday, the team ended their 4-game losing streak and saved themselves from falling beyond the 6th spot. Already they have slipped from the 2nd spot to the 5th. It all began when LeBron James sustained a groin injury, and since then the team has collapsed like a house of cards. Notably, the veteran wasn’t available for the comeback win against the Suns either. So, will he lace up tonight?
Unfortunately, no. The latest update from ESPN revealed that the 40-year-old superstar could miss another week of action. Yesterday, LeBron James was spotted courtside, donning LV casuals and cheering for the rest of the players. Anyway, fans need not worry. Luka Doncic, who was listed in the probable category ahead of the Suns game, is not included in the report.
Apart from that, the LA side has another positive update. Ex-Lakers big man Christian Wood, who has been out of action for over a year, has finally made the much-awaited response. Following his recovery from knee surgery, Wood took to his X handle and wrote, “Cleared to play basketball in a week .. finally, it’s been a year I’m just happy to be back.”

Unfortunately, the Lakers can’t use his service as the team waived his contract last month in order to rope in Alex Len. Nevertheless, the Lakers have a competitive lineup to face the Spurs. Moreover, the team has a few more players on the report. Here it is:
Trey Jemison (Illness) | Questionable |
Rui Hachimura (Knee) | Out |
Maxi Kleber (Right foot) | Out |
On the other hand, the Spurs have a disappointing injury report. With two starting stars out for the rest of the season, the Texas side barely has a chance at the game tonight.
What’s your perspective on:
Can the Lakers maintain their momentum without LeBron, or will they crumble under pressure again?

The Lakers have to continue from where they left off yesterday. Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves, and Jaxson Hayes can anchor the team’s offense. Meanwhile, the rest can focus on their roles and tighten up their defense. After the win over the Suns, JJ implied more on Hayes’ development as a big. He added, “You know, playing with Luka has been awesome for him.” So, we can expect more of it in tonight’s game.

With Victor Wembanyama and De’Aaron Fox out of action for the rest of the season, the Spurs don’t have an impact. However, the team can focus on building young talents like Stephon Castle & Julian Champagnie and prepare them for the upcoming season. Next season, definitely looks lethal for the Spurs with a combination of young blood and veteran experience. Anyway, looking at tonight’s game, do the Spurs have enough muscle to defeat the Lakers? Let us know.
