Lakers fans just got the wind knocked out of them for a minute. The NBA In-season Tournament’s final has been breathtaking. But that was not the reason why Los Angeles fans could be heard gasping.
LeBron James went down, hitting the hardwood floor, holding his knee. And the question on everyone’s mind: has The King been injured?

The Los Angeles Lakers and Indiana Pacers finals matchup has been giving fans an early playoff experience. But it wasn’t all bells and whistles for LA loyalists, especially early in the fourth quarter.
Around the nine-minute mark, LeBron James hit the ground, holding on to his right knee. James grabbed a defensive rebound and instantly turned around to create a fastbreak play.

Unfortunately for James, he ended up colliding with Pacers guard TJ McConnell. James’ knee took the first initial hit, causing him to go down instantly in pain and agony. The replay highlighted how LBJ was holding onto his right knee while he was on the ground.

James has been a crucial part of the team, both on the offensive and defensive end of the floor. His absence would have not only put the game in jeopardy but also the upcoming future of the Lakers’ season.
At 38 years of age, about to turn 39, James is an absolute specimen of an athlete. But injuries tend to take a more severe toll when ‘Father Time’ comes around and can be a daunting thought to process.
James brushes off the collision to win it all
Luckily for Los Angeles Lakers fans, LeBron James did not sustain anything serious and was able to brush the collision off in a couple of minutes. He made sure to stay in the game and rally his team to the win.

The Lakers took the game with a final score of 123-109. James finished the game with 24 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. The team was led by Anthony Davis’ 41-point performance.

But Austin Reaves’ contributions cannot be overlooked either. He came off the bench and scored 28 points in the game in the 28 minutes he was on the floor for the Los Angeles Lakers.

And LeBron James and the rest of the Lakers squad went on to make history as the team became the first to win the NBA Cup. Another accolade added to the long list for The King. Does this help him in the GOAT debate?
