The Dallas Mavericks are dealing with a myriad of injuries, including their fan-favorite Luka Doncic. The long list of casualties has resulted in the Mavs losing both their preseason games. They will head to Inglewood, California, to play the first game in the newly built Intuit Dome, taking on the LA Clippers. All eyes will be on Klay Thompson. He made his debut recently against the Jazz and chipped in 10 points, though he went 3 out of 9 in field goals, his three-point percentage was quite decent at 60%.
The sharpshooter also dished out 3 assists against the Utah side in their 107-102 loss on Thursday. Even though it wasn’t Klay’s best performance, things will be much different once Luka Doncic is back on the court. As for the answer to whether Thompson will play tonight, despite dealing with back tightness, the new Dallas signing is expected to be in the starting line-up. He’s had a long history of injuries throughout his career, but this one isn’t much to worry about.
Dallas will face a familiar foe in the Clippers, as they finally defeated them in the playoffs last season, after a long struggle to overcome them. The LA side has lost Paul George while Kawhi Leonard is also struggling with an injury, making his appearance doubtful.

Dallas Mavericks Starting 5 with Klay Thompson and other injury news
The Mavericks are in the hunt for their first win of the preseason. They could head into this one with the same veteran combination of Klay Thompson, Kyrie Irving, and Spencer Dinwiddie. However, the Mavericks are a little short-handed in the forward position with P.J. Washington still on a day-to-day. Nonetheless, youngster Olivier-Maxence Prosper could fill up that gap in tonight’s outing.

The Dallas Mavericks have been hit hard with injuries. Luka Doncic is out because of a calf contusion. Dante Exum is sidelined for three months with a wrist injury, and Coach Kidd has said it is unlikely that P.J. Washington to play.
There are more players on the day-to-day, including Brandon Williams, Kessler Edwards, and Maxi Kleber. With the amount of injuries, it will be tough for any team to compete and the fans hope for this to change with the regular season just around the corner.
