The Oklahoma City Thunder have finally touched down after a soaring 15-0 run. It was indeed a tough loss to digest for the OKC fans. Following the loss against the season toppers Cavaliers, SGA & Co. have a fresh challenge in front of them. A perfect opportunity to kick start another winning streak, defeating the East 3rd seed, the New York Knicks. Importantly, this isn’t nothing short of a possible NBA Finals.
The two teams already locked horns a few days ago amid their hot streaks and it was OKC who had the last laugh, taking the W with a 117-107 performance. The Knicks went with their usual 8-man rotation that put a lot of responsibility on the starters’ shoulders and they couldn’t withstand the Thunder’s all-round performance.
Now that the Knicks have an opportunity to payback, they have a huge setback. The team listed Karl-Anthony Towns as Questionable, citing a knee injury. With Mitchell Robinson, the team’s traditional center, yet to make his season debut, Towns’ absence will majorly affect the team’s thin depth. Importantly, the Knicks’ trusted reserve Miles McBride has played the last 5 games with a hamstring injury and the team has listed him out for tonight’s challenge. So, the NY side literally has to play with a 7-man rotation and hope everything they touch turns to gold.

On the other hand, the OKC Thunder also has a packed injury report. One of the crucial absences will be of Chet Holmgren, who hasn’t played for a long time dealing with a hip fracture. However, the team has found a perfect replacement in Isaiah Hartenstein. Meanwhile, the rest of the injuries don’t directly impact the team’s dominant run.
Here’s the list of other injured players:
- Ajay Mitchell (Toe) – Out
- Alex Caruso (Hip) – Out
- Alex Ducas (Back) – Out
- Adam Flagler (Metacarpal fracture) – Out
- Nikola Topic (ACL) – Out
Karl-Anthony Towns & Co. vs OKC Thunder: Starting Lineup and Depth Chart
In the last season, dealing with plaguing injuries, Jalen Brunson had to shoulder the team’s offense. This season, with the blockbuster trade, Karl-Anthony Towns shared the load, and the team did start the season on a high. However, the occasional injuries continue to affect the team because of the thin depth. Until Mitchell Robinson makes his return, the team will have to struggle with this situation.
