Jordan Poole has been a fan favorite since the Golden State Warriors began utilizing him for offense in the absence of Steph Curry. Kid Splash was a monicker aptly given to him by fans, based on his ability to sink seamless three-pointers off the dribble. While many fans saw a glimpse of the future in the talents of Poole, there were major problems brewing inside. Despite being instrumental in the 4th championship for the Dubs, JP3 had an infamous incident with Draymond Green souring the locker room environment.

Adding fuel to the fire was Poole constantly shooting the ball in clutch situations and missing based on bad decisions. This resulted in him being traded to the Washington Wizards last season. However, what are Wizards really planning to do with Jordan Poole?

In the offseason, Jordan Poole was traded to the Washington Wizards for Chris Paul. At the time, this decision was questioned by fans and veterans alike. However, as the season progressed, Cp3’s effectiveness in running the second unit off the bench and play-making abilities laid to rest those doubts.

Still, Jp3’s future remains uncertain at the Wizards. He inked a $123 Million contract for four years, teaming up with Kyle Kuzma to be the face of the franchise. However, according to a recent report by Marc Stein, Washington might have other plans.

“Did the Washington Wizards trade for Jordan Poole to try to rebuild his trade value to move him on in a future trade ? or to make him a cornerstone player of their post-Bradley Beal future? My sense, from speaking to various league observers, is that more believe it is the former rather than the latter with Poole in Year 1 of a four-year, $123 million contract,”?the report stated.

Although it is not possible to surmise if it is indeed fact, it isn’t far-fetched either. Kid Slpash’s recent performances have also not been up to the mark.

However, the regular season hasn’t been as favorable, with the Wizards holding a 2-8 record after nearly three weeks. Despite Kyle Kuzma’s consistent performances, including several 20-point games and one 30-point game, the team is in need of another standout player like Jordan Poole to secure victories.
