Even though the 76ers lost the game against the Warriors on Thursday, it looked like the Philly side was finally back. Not to disrespect the team, but the sight of Joel Embiid maneuvering the offense and breaking through the Dubs’ defense gave us flashbacks! Something that the Sixers missed for a long, long time. However, the only question is, will this be a consistent showing throughout the rest of the season? No one really has the answer to the question, do they?

In the same game, both Paul George and Tyrese Maxey had good looks. It definitely showed signs that they could take over the season in no time! Nevertheless, the Dubs just looked unbeatable with Stephen Curry’s hot night. So, tonight, the Philly side takes on the Brooklyn Nets and can we expect a similar magic? Unfortunately, the chances are low. They’ve listed Joel Embiid as questionable, citing his facial fracture and leg injury. Apologies for the build-up… but it looks like the Philly fans have to wait a bit longer.

Apart from Embiid, here are the players included in the injury report:

  • Kelly Oubre Jr. (hand) – Questionable
  • KJ Martin (Foot) – Out
  • Jared McCain (Meniscus) – Out for the rest of the season

On the other hand, the Nets also have a worrying sight. Firstly, the team ruled out Cameron Johnson, who sustained an ankle injury late in the win over the Bucks. Cam Thomas, who has partially recovered from his hamstring strain, has been under close supervision. The team has listed Thomas in the questionable category for precautionary reasons. The rest of the injury report is here as follows:

  • Maxwell Lewis (Left Tibia fracture) – Out
  • Trendon Watford (Hamstring) – Out
  • Noah Clowney – Questionable
  • Bojan Bogdanovic (Foot) – Out

Joel Embiid & Co. vs the Nets: Starting lineup and depth chart

Without Joel Embiid and Kelly Oubre Jr. on the roster, the Philly team still looks lethal compared to the shorthanded Nets. The City of Brotherly Love needs an anchor performance from Tyrese Maxey or Paul George to set the stage for a comfortable victory. However, it’s never a safe option to underestimate the Nets, especially this season. The team continues to surprise the league, despite its eroding foundation. Last time, the team managed to shut down a fully healthy Bucks in an away game!

So, the Sixers may have to watch out for the Nets, taking them lightly on the court is not an option. Nevertheless, with Cam Johnson and Cam Thomas unfortunately out of action, home-comer D’Lo may have to take the mantle and anchor the game offensively. So, can we expect a breakout performance from Russell? Let us know in the comments below.
