A 3-0 streak has given the Minnesota Timberwolves the confidence they had previously lost. Hungry for more wins, they will be welcoming the Grizzlies on Saturday night for a tough challenge. After all, Memphis has proven night in and night out that they are contending for the title, making them a threat to Minnesota. But are the Grizzlies strong enough to face the Timberwolves without Ja Morant? Probably not. So, fans are eagerly waiting to see if the All-Star guard will be accompanying his side tonight after his recent absences.

Injury report of Ja Morant and Co. against Timberwolves

The concern rose after a tragic night against the Pelicans late last month, when the Grizzlies offensive leader, Ja Morant, was sidelined. A collision with New Orleans’ Daniel Theis had turned the tables. The franchise soon announced that Morant would miss the next few games because of a Grade 1 AC joint sprain. And he was rested to allow for healing.

Finally, in the previous game against the Rockets, Morant was cleared from the injury report and was able to return to the court. Even tonight, his name is not on the report, which means he will be suiting up to showcase his full potential.

Recently added to the injury list is Cam Spencer, who has been ruled out for the upcoming clash. The young combo guard fractured his left thumb during practice on Thursday, and a day later, it was confirmed that he would require surgery to repair the thumb. Reports claim that his condition will be re-evaluated after three weeks.

Marcus Smart is also on the list who is dealing with a partial tear of the proximal extensor hood of his right index finger. He sustained the injury against the Hawks last month and hasn’t returned yet. Whereas, it’s about time for Gregory Jackson‘s comeback. The youngster underwent foot surgery in September, which has kept him from making his debut this season. Meanwhile, Vince Williams Jr. is still recovering from his Grade 3 right ankle sprain. The incident occurred in a game against Denver, and it’s been almost two months since he has been unable to rejoin the squad.

Luckily for the Timberwolves, there’s not much to worry about the health of their players, as all of them are doing well except Rob Dillingham. The newly appointed guard suffered a Grade 2 right lateral ankle sprain and is expected to resume play after a week or two of rest.

Pre-game speculations: Timberwolves vs Grizzlies

Last season, the Timberwolves were a much stronger team, while the Grizzlies were weakened as Ja Morant struggled with a series of injuries and not to forget his 25-game suspension. As a result, all four wins in the regular season went in favor of Minnesota. However, this time it’s different.

For starters, Ja Morant is back to lead the team with his averages 21.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 7.7 assists. Moreover, the Grizzlies are holding a 24-14 record, which reflects their strong performance so far this season. On the flip side, the Timberwolves are still struggling. Since Karl-Anthony Towns’ departure, they haven’t been able to return to their past form. They’ve somehow managed to cling to the seventh spot in the Western Conference with a 20-17 record.

So, will the Timberwolves be able to extend their five-game win streak against the third-seeded Grizzlies, or is it about time for the streak to end? Tune in at 8 PM ET tonight to catch all the live action from the Target Center as these Western Conference rivals meet for a crucial clash.
