Here’s how – so in his freshman year he averaged 15 points and eight rebounds, leading his team to a regional title and a spot in the state quarterfinals. It continued in his sophomore season, where he averaged 22.5 points per game and again led his school to a regional championship. His performances earned All-State honors and a place on the MaxPreps Sophomore All-American third team.
Okoro’s game continued to evolve. By junior year, he averaged 20.3 points and 6.4 rebounds, helping McEachern reach the state quarterfinals. His accolades included first-team All-State and USA Today All-USA Georgia first-team honors. In his senior year, the hooper averaged 19.7 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game. At Auburn, he wasn’t any lesser. Okoro made an immediate impact, scoring 12 points in his debut. By the end of his freshman year, he averaged 12.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game.
