His journey from FIBA to NBA

Livingston represented the United States at the FIBA Under-16 Americas Championship in Belém, Brazil, held in 2019. He put up 23 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists in a 94–77 victory over Canada in the final, earning a gold medal for his team, and the tournament’s most valued player honor for himself.

For his outstanding accolades, he became a five-star recruit, and offers from several major programs came pouring in. Chris chose the University of Kentucky for their program under coach John Calipari. The Bucks saw his potential with the Kentucky Wildcats and took a chance on him in the freshman season as he was the final pick during the 2023 NBA Draft.

Despite being the last selection, Livingston signed a four-year, $7.7 million rookie contract—the largest deal ever for a player picked at his position. He is represented by Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Group and mentored by LeBron.

Chris has played in 21 games in his rookie season and his minutes have been limited. Averaging just 1.2 points and 1 rebound per game, he’s trying to find his place in Milwaukees’ rotation. It’s likely that he will spend some time with the Wisconsin Herd in the G League, where he can get more playing time and improve his skills.

Chris Livingston’s story is still unfolding and his journey in the NBA is just beginning. While he may not be making headlines yet, the Bucks have high hopes for him. For now, though, fans will just have to wait as he continues to develop. There’s no telling just how far his story could go.
