The longtime member of the Miami Heat, Goran Dragic recently decided to call it a day, as the Slovenian will be playing his final basketball game in his home country. This will be a charity event namely, The Night of the Dragon, featuring fan-favorite players and Dragic’s former teammates. During his time in South Beach, Dragic had some of the best seasons of his career. Not only that, but he even made the All-Star team as a Heat. Now, at 38, Dragic will be finishing off things in style. However, his farewell event won’t be complete without his former teammate from Miami, Chris Bosh.
At just 32, Bosh retired from the league after blood clots in his lungs. It was quite unfortunate not only for Bosh but also for the Heat. Chris Bosh was one of the key players during Miami’s back-to-back title run with LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. It is great to see the two-time champion attending his teammates’ farewell event, however, Bosh will not be in action. Yes, although he will be a part of this event, Bosh will not be playing alongside other All-Stars. But who are the other All-Stars?
The notable names in the list include Luka Doncic, Nikola Jokic, Dirk Nowitzki, Luis Scola, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Nikola Vucevic, and others. Surprisingly, the only American players on this list are Steve Nash, Robin Lopez, and Bosh. This will definitely be a delight for European basketball fans watching some of the top NBA players on the floor. Bosh, on the other hand, could’ve enjoyed Jimmy Butler’s company, but sadly, the shooting guard will not be joining the event with other participants.

Moreover, the game is scheduled for August 24th in the Stozice Arena in Ljubljana. The rosters for the game will be announced the day before, on Friday. If not in action, maybe Bosh can look to contribute as an official which will only make the show more entertaining. Of course, it would’ve been amazing to witness Bosh back on the floor, facing his former Finals rival, Dirk Nowitzki. If anything, this possible matchup would’ve had OG fans more excited than anything.
Chris Bosh was a problem in the East
Right from his rookie year, Bosh was one of the best forward/center in the Eastern Conference. He played his first seven years in Toronto where he had the best stretch of his career. From 2005-10, Bosh averaged 22.8 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 2.5 assists on 50% shooting from the field. During this stretch, Bosh made five All-Star appearances and even made the case for an MVP award, not once, but twice. Following his dominance in Toronto, Bosh joined the Miami Heat where all his hard work eventually paid off.

Miami introduced Bosh and James in 2010, forming what would be known as one of the best big threes in the history of the league. They went on to make four straight Finals appearances winning two titles along the way. However, Bosh continued for just a couple of seasons after James’ departure. If it wasn’t for Bosh’s unfortunate injury, the Heat might still have been one of the playoff contenders in the East. As CB4 heads to Slovenia, it will be interesting to see whether he gives a second thought to his participation in Dragic’s farewell event.
