The fast-rising star of the Golden State Warriors, Brandin Podziemski, just had a scary clash with Neemias Queta. The Warriors faced the championship favorite, Boston Celtics tonight. It seems like the rookie suffered a back injury while boxing Queta.
With just 1:00 to end the first quarter, the GSW forgot to breathe as Podziemski lay on the floor in pain. Yet to receive any official news as to the gravity of the situation, all we can do is hope it’s just a scare.
However, the Warriors did announce that the 20-year-old would not be returning for the remainder of the game. Unsure as to his status going forward, it’s clear that the back injury will need, at the very least, rest. Playing for 16 minutes, Brandin Podziemski exited the court with five points, five rebounds, one steal, and one assist.

The Warriors claimed an overtime victory over the Celtics with a stunning 132-126 score. The Celtics had a slight injury scare of their own when Jayson Tatum rolled his ankle when he stepped on Podziemski’s foot. Derrick White had a great start when his three blocks included Wiggins and stopping a three-pointer from Curry.
Even with Boston players putting up incredible stats, they simply couldn’t withstand Steph’s final dagger.

The Dubs selected Brandin Podziemski as the first-round No. 19 draft pick in 2023. Shooting 43% from three-point and an average of 8.5 rebounds per game at Santa Clara, Steve Kerr was excited to get the young guard on board. And it has proven to be the best decision.
From the unexpected entry into the floor during the infamous Gobert-Green ejection to the latest back injury he sustained, Podziemski has been nothing short of remarkable. Though they lost to the Wolves, Podziemski finished with a team-high 23 points. Averaging 8.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 20 games, the Wisconsin native has become a favorite with everyone.
