Can the Warriors maintain their momentum without Wiggins, or is his absence a ticking time bomb?

“I’m feeling better, a lot better than before,” Andrew Wiggins said. But where is he? The Golden State Warriors are already making waves, winning their first two preseason games against the Los Angeles Clippers and Sacramento Kings. One of the most notable aspects of the Warriors’ preseason games was the absence of their key forward, Andrew Wiggins, in both matchups.

The former All-Star has always been a pivotal part of the Warriors. For example, one of his standout performances with the Warriors was during Game 5 of the 2022 NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics. He delivered a stellar performance, scoring 26 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. His impact was felt on both ends of the court, as he played exceptional defense, especially against Celtics star Jayson Tatum.

As the Warriors gear up for another championship run, expectations for Andrew Wiggins are high. However, Wiggins has yet to appear in the preseason and it appears that he won’t play in the Warriors’ second preseason game against the Kings. But why isn’t he playing in the game? Let’s explore.

However, he didn’t participate in the live-action drills. The question on everyone’s mind: how quickly can Wiggins regain his form? And, will he play in any preseason games?

For now, it looks like there’s no end to the suspense surrounding Wiggins’ availability. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr recently confirmed that Wiggins will not play in Friday’s game against the Kings. “Yeah, it’s unfortunate because he is gonna be a big part of everything. He practiced today. He has not done any full-court scrimmaging yet … But probably won’t come until Monday I would guess. We’re going to play tomorrow obviously you will play like give the guys Saturday off another game Sunday”.

With the Warriors having only a couple of preseason games left, it raises further questions: how will this affect Wiggins as he transitions into the regular season?
