Does Amen Thompson have a special someone in his life? The further the popularity of the NBA star increases, the more this question may be getting pondered upon. Taken in as the 4th overall pick by the Houston Rockets, the 21-year-old guard/small forward has been in the public eye, in a major manner, for more than a year now. As a result, while Thompson has been doing his best to keep his relationship away from the spotlight, media sources have still managed to connect the dots between him and his rumored partner.

Back in June 2023, the New York Times did a profile on the Thompson twins: Amen and Ausar. The same featured a photograph, which highlighted the brothers heading to an after-party along with their respective girlfriends. The NY Times article confirmed the name of the woman walking beside Amen was Hannah Watlington. Unfortunately, no further details were provided about her.

The information about Hannah Watlington’s early life is quite limited. However, thanks to a profile written by the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta back in October 2019, we get an insight into her time with the DeKalb School of the Arts.

Along with showing proficiency in drama and media arts earlier, Hannah Watlington also reportedly had an interest in dancing. After all, she was a member of the Atlanta Ballet. As a member of the Samuel L. Jones Club, Hannah was the president of the Tech Club. She was also a member of Keystone. Through that, she volunteered at an animal shelter and assisted in neighborhood park clean-ups.

Hannah also displayed some talent in kayaking, and tubing in the river, when she attended a year-round residence camp named ‘Camp Kiwanis’. She is someone who wholeheartedly enjoyed the activities she participated in back then. In a statement, Watlington reportedly said, “The arts bring joy and a way for people to express themselves and come together. The arts will save the world!”

Neither Hannah nor Amen Thompson have publicly disclosed details of their relationship. Therefore, there is no way to know how they even met. However, it is important to remember that the school of the Arts, which Hannah attended, is located in DeKalb County.

It is just east of the city of Atlanta, Georgia. Atlanta was also where Amen Thompson was between 2020-21 after he had signed a two-year contract with Overtime Elite (OTE), a professional league based in Atlanta that hosts players between the ages of 16 and 20.

The secrecy about this relationship also does not confirm whether Amen Thompson and Hannah Watlington are still together or not. Therefore, unless the duo reveals some information by themselves, all that fans can do is speculate.

Which draft class did Amen Thompson bring his girlfriend to?

The after-party celebrated Amen Thompson being drafted by the Houston Rockets during the 2023 NBA Draft. It was also the year when the Detroit Pistons picked Amen’s twin brother, Ausar Thompson, as the 5th overall pick.

Both Amen and Ausar were selected consecutively. As highlighted by the New York Times, Amen was walking up to the stage to shake the hands of NBA Commissioner Adam Silver when Ausar noticed something on his phone. The TV cameras had been panned away earlier to capture Amen’s reaction to being drafted and had not moved! Soon, Adam Silver returned to the podium. By then, Ausar had sensed that he was going to be drafted immediately after his brother. Lo and behold, that is what happened!

As Amen was being prepared for his interview post-selection, he heard his twin’s name being called, and he punched his fist in the air.  Ausar then entered the after-party with his girlfriend Ally Lo Ré, while Amen entered with Hannah, who had donned the NBA player’s Houston Rockets draft cap herself! Fans hope that, with time, they get some update from the NBA star about his love life. Till then, however, they hope for his success on the court.
