Just after the NBA signed its new $76 billion media rights deal for the next 11 years, ESPN and Disney’s interesting project has come to light. They’ve reportedly decided to roll back the calendar and pick up the coverage of the prominent closed-door games that fans did not get to enjoy in person as they solely witnessed it through live streams. Weren’t you curious to know more about such logistical excellence that kept the NBA players away from COVID and gave them the opportunity to complete the 2019-20 season?
That’s why, as per Insider Scott Gustin, Disney and ESPN have joined forces to develop “The Bubble” documentary officially to give the community “a behind-the-scenes look at the 2020 Pandemic-era NBA Playoffs and NBA Finals in quarantine at the Walt Disney World Resort.” The world ‘bubble’ referenced in the title pertains to the 2020 NBA Bubble, or Orlando Bubble, which was a bio-secure environment. It was in Florida, quite close to Orlando; and the games were at the multipurpose ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
When the season was suspended on March 11, 2020, after Rudy Gobert tested positive for COVID-19, there were reports that the NBA season would not continue to stop the spread of the lethal disease. However, later, the board devised a makeshift way and executed it from July 22-28- which were the exhibition scrimmages, followed by the regular season seeding games from July 30 to August 14.

The Play-in tournament was on August 15, followed by the NBA Finals that continued until October 11. In a plan consisting of 6 phases, the NBA made sure to keep every player free of any kind of infection and finished the season without a single case of COVID.

ESPN And Disney to showcase the story of LeBron James and Co.’s 2020 NBA Championship!
When LeBron James and Co. won the 2020 NBA Finals in the Bubble against the Miami Heat, the celebrations were in full swing. However, no one knew what it took the Lakers to reach that stage, despite being away from their friends and families for a long period. They strived to polish their gameplay to the end limit, as Rajon Rondo revealed LeBron’s strategy. “And we were sitting in the room watching the game, and like I said, it went down to the wire. So, Bron’s like, ‘If we get Miami, I got Spo, and if we get Boston, you got Brad [Stevens].’ So that was kind of our mindset,” RR said.
“It wasn’t like, ‘Oh, we’re gonna beat the Heat, or we’re gonna beat the Celtics.’ It was more so if we can outcoach or outplay the coaches on that staff in particular, which two guys we felt that we knew pretty good, we were gonna win,” he concluded.
