The Los Angeles Lakers season might be in jeopardy. LeBron James and Co. went head-to-head against the Golden State Warriors tonight. While the Lakers were trying to muscle a comeback against their long-time rivals, Anthony Davis suffered a horrific injury scare during the third quarter.

The Lakers Forward had a nasty collision with Warriors Center Draymond Green while driving to the basket. As Draymond tried to block Davis’ shot, his knee hit the Lakers Forward’s thigh. AD immediately fell to the ground, clutching his left leg in pain.

Players from both teams surrounded Davis to check on him. Unfortunately, AD could not recover from the horrific injury scare and hobbled back to the locker room to receive further treatment. It looked like he would not be able to return to action for the remainder of the game. Davis played 25 minutes and scored 17 points and 8 rebounds before getting injured.

In a miraculous turn of events, Anthony Davis returned to the floor with 9 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. He immediately got back to adding points to the board and hit a smooth floater. Davis’ injury will be further analyzed after the game, but it is currently being labeled as “hip spasms”.

Fortunately for the Los Angeles Lakers, AD was not hurt enough to sit out the rest of the game. AD scored 8 points in the fourth quarter and helped the Lakers tie the score and send the game to overtime.

Later, Anthony Davis confirmed to The Athletic reporter Jovan Buha that he was fine after his hip spasms. “I’m good,” he said. He added that it’s the same area where he’s dealt with his groin injury for most of the season.

Davis has played 44 games for the Lakers so far, which is already more than the games he played in the entire 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons. This year is the healthiest Davis has been since the Lakers 2020 Championship season. However, the Lakers will struggle to turn their season around if Davis misses upcoming games due to injury. Hopefully, Davis can shake off tonight’s injury scare and stay available for the rest of the season.
