Bronny James has been the talk of the NBA community even before entering the NBA draft itself. However, the speculations have gone on the rise as the NBA Draft date is getting close to increasing tensions for team general managers. Out of those, the biggest concern might belong to the Los Angeles Lakers GM Rob Pelinka. Though Bronny is expected to land in the purple and gold jerseys, his athleticism is often questioned, considering the pro level of the league. Still the Lakers and draft expert for a long time, Mike Garcia believes that the young prospect is worth more than that.

Garcia claimed on the Athletic’s Jovan Buha’s YouTube podcast that he has known Bronny since high school. He went on to list the abilities of the young prospect, saying, “Bronny, I think he is an incredibly underrated athlete.” Apparently, Garcia here was implying the certain set of skills that Bronny possesses and are severely underestimated. The draft expert further justified his statement, saying, “When he attacks a rim, you can really see the aggression. …He keeps the ball moving, he knows how to play, defends well.” Moreover, these qualities compelled Garcia to put Bronny in the group of 20 general players early in the draft.

These qualities compelled Garcia to put Bronny in the group of 20 general players early in the draft. Notably, Bronny is in the second-round pick and ranked at the 55th spot for now. Despite being a player so deep in the pick, the teams are ready to bet on him. However, he is more of a bait rather than a pick for teams apart from the Lakers. Most of the teams might go for him to lure LeBron James if things go south for Rob Pelinka and his office. Yet Mike Garcia’s words held significance as Bronny James is more of a basketball player than LeBron James‘ son.

The speculation surrounding Bronny’s draft prospects is not just about his basketball skills but also the strategic implications for other NBA teams. If the Lakers were to lose Bronny, it could significantly impact their strategy and resources.

Are the Boston Celtics planning to acquire Bronny James?

Bill Simmons, a well-known NBA analyst, thinks that the young prospect can be quite useful to the Boston Celtics. Speaking on his self-titled podcast, Simmons suggested that the NBA Champions hold Bronny “hostage” to gain leverage over other teams. In other words, he wants the Celtics to take Bronny and then demands assets from other teams. If they want Bronny James for a genuine reason, they will trade their key players. One of the suggestions that he added while making the statement was Max Christie from the Los Angeles Lakers.

Apparently, it is more of a tit-for-tat moment for the Celtics rather than choosing a player for the game. Bill suggested that LeBron and his team took four playoffs in the last four years against the Boston team. But it is the time for Champions to give back for that and acquire Bronny James.

Nevertheless, it will be a big deal for the Lakers if they let go of James’ son just like that. Therefore, there is a rare chance that the Lakers will let go of Bronny. Yet the teams might heckle with Rob Pelinka’s pick to meddle with their resources. Who do you think can pull off such moves at the draft next week? Let us know in the comments.
