Another basketball icon has bid farewell to the game. Andre Iguodala of the Golden State Warriors has finally left the court after a 19-year-long career. The 39-year-old will go down as one of the most accomplished athletes to ever grace the court. However, Iguodala has set himself up for more exciting things to come in the future.

Iguodala is a longtime partner of 49ers ownership. Together, they own Leeds United, a women’s soccer team in the EPL. He is also part owner of the Bay FC in the NWSL. Other than these, Iguodala’s investments include Coinbase, Cloudflare, and Zoom.

The 39-year-old’s net worth is estimated to be around $90 million as of now. However, he is set to lead a venture capital fund, which could be a difference-maker. As per Joe Pompliano, “Andre Iguodala is retiring from basketball to run Mosaic, a $200 million venture capital fund that he recently raised.”

All things considered, Iguodala is heading into another chapter of his life with a lot on his plate.

Andre Iguodala’s decision to retire

After spending 19 seasons in the league, Iguodala won four NBA championships with the Warriors. However, his farewell season wasn’t as good as he would’ve wanted to.

He missed the first 39 games due to a hip injury. When he made his eventual season debut, soon he faced another setback in the form of a wrist fracture. Despite that, he wanted another season from him, but Iguodala knew it was time to say goodbye to the game.
