Shannon Sharpe's fury over Macron's blockade—Is this political move justified or a step too far?

While Stephen Curry flew off to Paris to participate in his first-ever Olympic games, his better half Ayesha stayed back to take care of their family and newborn. However, just before the Finals, she flew in with her son Canon and mother Sonya to cheer the NBA star on. The decision was worth it, as Curry delivered an astonishing performance against Serbia and France to secure his first-ever Olympic Gold Medal. Unfortunately, what was supposed to be a joyous event in the aftermath of the Finals was soon overshadowed by a bizarre event that had Ayesha and Draymond Green arguing with the French police. The incident was enough to bring Curry’s wife to tears.

On their “Nightcap” podcast, Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson discussed the incident concerning the Curry family’s attempt to cross the street. As it turns out, the street Ayesha and Sonya were about to cross was closed for the oncoming French President Emmanuel Macron’s motorcade. In the three-minute video captured by bystanders, while Sonya and Ayesha stood at the sidelines, Draymond Green could be seen attempting to diffuse the situation.

At one point, the Warriors star even claimed that one police member hit Ayesha and Steph’s newborn, Caius Chai, by stating “So even after you hit the baby in the head, there’s still nothing y’all can do to get them out of here?” While Shannon Sharpe made it clear that attempting to circumvent presidential security is a no-go for them, he wouldn’t have certainly thrown his hands if it was his child who was hit.

While Shannon Sharpe made it clear that attempting to circumvent presidential security is a no-go for them, he wouldn’t have certainly thrown his hands if it was his child who was hit.

“You hit my child in the head, for sure I’d be in jail but I beat the hell out of somebody, though,” the 56-year-old stated. “I’d be in jail, he’d be in the hospital, two people in the hospital for sure.”

Unaware of the blockade, Ayesha and others were caught by surprise when they were surrounded by police, leading to an intense confrontation. If Caius was hit, then the situation was definitely messed up. Despite the situation, Sharpe and Johnson agreed that such security measures are common, and it “makes sense”, compared to how things would operate back home in the US amid presidential visits.

“If the President is coming to town, I know not to leave the house,” Johnson exclaimed. “I know not to leave the house. I’m not going nowhere”. Sharpe added to his co-host’s remarks by stating “If y’all lived in Atlanta, and y’all know what it’s like, when the President…. when President Obama came to town, y’all know what it was like. When President Biden come to town.”

Stephen Curry winning the gold medal against the host country should have been the highlight of the year, along with the birth of Caius. However, for him and his family, a minor lapse in information led to a police confrontation that may not be forgotten for time to come. Unknowingly, the city of Paris is certainly not being too friendly to the Gold Medallists. After all, Stephen Curry’s family wasn’t the only one who ended up being harassed by the people.

Similarly to Ayesha, LeBron James felt his personal space was violated by an enthusiastic fan

Having secured his third Olympic gold medal and the Olympics (Basketball) MVP title, LeBron James was certainly in party mode. Unfortunately, similarly to Ayesha Curry, the 39-year-old’s night may have been ruined by some unnecessary intervention.

Just a few hours after the win against Victor Wembanyama and co, LeBron James was seen heading to a club alongside his wife Savannah. Upon getting out, fans quickly surrounded the player’s vehicle, pointing their cameras to capture him as he had the Olympic Gold Medal draped around his neck. One of them even came close to the player to get a quick selfie.

However, LeBron did not appreciate this sudden ‘ambush,’ since everyone else was taking his photos from afar. All he could say to the young fan was: “Stop, stop stop! Don’t do that!” and proceeded to walk on. The person behind LeBron also slightly pushed the fan away to make way.

Unlike Ayesha, the incident was not that traumatizing. This was seen in the same clip when the Gold Medallist immediately became a different man after stepping into the club, dancing to the tunes, and embracing people. However, the two back-to-back incidents have certainly cast a dark cloud over this joyous occasion. While no update is yet provided by any members of the Curry family, the same can be expected in the coming hours.
