We shouldn’t be surprised by the confidence that Anthony Edwards shows by now. The 22-year-old could very well be confidence personified! Yet, the ANT continues to take it to the next level. Present in tonight’s series-winner, at least it should have been one, was the Dallas Cowboys’ linebacker, Micah Parsons. He was sporting a Mavs jersey with the number 77 on it – Luka Doncic’s number.

Parsons was waiting to meet Edwards after the game, and when he did, Ant-Man promised the 25-year-old something. Talking to reporters in the post-game presser, he revealed what exactly it was. “He was rocking the AE1s. Size 14. I told him I’d bring him back some nice shoes for Game 6.”

Adidas AE1s are Edward’s signature shoes and although it was quite the wardrobe mismatch in that he was wearing a Doncic jersey and ANT’s shoes, No. 5 was a good sport about it. In fact, prior to the promise he made to Parsons, Anthony said to the reporters about their query to where he gets his confidence from, “What am I supposed to say? I’m supposed to say we are going to lose Game 5? No, I’ll never say that.”

Of course, this isn’t the first time that Anthony Edwards has promised to come back to his opponents’ arena. The 2x All-Star said the same thing to the locker room staff at Ball Arena that he would see them for Game 7. The Nuggets had taken a 3-2 lead in the series then. And yes, he kept his word, hoping to do the same this time around.

Can he though?

Can Anthony Edwards and Co. make history vs the Dallas Mavericks?

No team has ever escaped from a 3-0 deficit to finally win the series. Yes, a few have forced Game 7s, but the final victory went to the team that took the first three-game lead. And in this case, it’s the Dallas Mavericks. However, in the past three games where the Wolves have lost, there was never a double-digit deficit.

It was nearly always tightly contested matchups. Nevertheless, they are facing a well-equipped team who have yet to lose two games in a row in the playoffs. The Mavericks haven’t lost two straight games since early March. The last they did was during the final two games in the regular season, where there were a few players who were resting.

So, ideally, the chances of the Wolves advancing to the Finals this season seem unlikely. Then again, if anyone can change the course of history right about now, it would probably be Anthony Edwards and his wolf pack! Would you agree? Or was tonight just an exception and not necessarily the rule? Tell us what you think.
