Nikola Jokic finally got his revenge against Joel Embiid & co. After suffering a devastating loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on January 16, the Denver Nuggets went head-to-head against the Sixers again tonight. The Joker made sure to even the score, leading the Nuggets to a 111-105 victory. However, he did not get to face Joel Embiid as the reigning MVP was sitting the game out due to injury. That led to Embiid getting booed by the Nuggets fans for avoiding the highly-anticipated matchup.

Amid fans’ disrespect, Nikola Jokic made an honest confession about Joel Embiid and gave him his flowers. “The things that he is doing right now, it’s historic. And you need to appreciate that,” The Joker said in the post-game interview. Jokic claimed whether a person is a Denver Nuggets fan or any other team fan, one cannot deny how dominant Embiid has been this season.

Praising him further, Jokic added, “If you’re a basketball, soccer, horse racing fan, Denver Nuggets fan, Philadelphia fan, whoever, enemies, whatever, I think you need to respect what he’s doing. He’s putting history in front of our eyes and he’s making it look so easy.”

Joel Embiid took over the league last season and won his first-ever MVP trophy. Not many expected Embiid to get better this season. However, he has topped last year’s performance and had an even more incredible season this year.

Embiid is leading the league in scoring with 36 points per game. He has also taken a page out of Jokic’s book and improved his playmaking ability. Embiid is averaging a career-high 5.8 assists this season. The Sixers superstar took one step closer to winning another MVP trophy this year after his career-high 70-point performance on Monday.
