A’ja Wilson did it again! The 28-year-old won her third MVP title in the last four years. Not only that but Wilson is the third player to win the WNBA MVP unanimously. Players around the league poured their congratulations on the three-time MVP, however, the Miami Heat’s sneaky appreciation had Twitteratis troll Bam Adebayo. Yes, the two have been dating for a while and the Heat’s official X handle did not waste the opportunity to tease the big man.
The Miami Heat posted a picture of Adebayo, “A’random photo of Bam on this lovely Sunday”. Of course, it was a dig at his dating life, sending fans into a frenzy. One of the fans even commented, “Dawg if A’ja and Bam ever break up it’s over for their digital footprints”. But the hilarious comments did not end there. Many even gave props to the admin whose idea it was to post such a tweet. “Don’t stop cooking Admin”, “W admin”, were some of the reactions.

And to everyone’s surprise, Bam Adebayo finally reacted to the tweet with a funny GIF. If anything, fans were having the most fun with this Twitter interaction. But apart from all the fun and games, A’ja Wilson had a record-breaking season. She became the first player in WNBA history to lead the league in total points, rebounds, and blocks. Wilson averaged 26.9 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks per game while shooting over 51% from the field.
Wilson will now be taking on the Seattle Storm in the first round. As Game 1 of the series is just hours away, this postseason will be crucial for A’ja Wilson and company. The reigning two-time champ has a chance at a three-peat, something only the Houston Comets have done back in the 90s. Moreover, this would solidify Wilson’s career, making the case for the greatest WNBA of all time. Now, Wilson looks ready to take on the challenge, and considering her playoff record, the Aces are liking their chances.
A’ja Wilson leaves no stone unturned in the postseason
Last year, Wilson averaged 23.8 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game. Not only that but she was highly efficient from the field, shooting over 55%. It’s pretty clear that Wilson’s playoff mode is something to look out for. As historic as this upcoming postseason will be, it’ll be as tough as they make their way to the Finals. Becky Hammon, the Aces’ head coach is confident in her star player, especially after the unanimous MVP award.
