Fans know Klay Thompson as one of the best three-point shooters in NBA history. The 4-time champion has proven time and again that he can score lights out whenever he needs to. Be it his 60-point performance in just 29 minutes or his 37-point performance in a quarter, there is no stopping Klay when he is hot. But with Steph leading the charge, Klay is not required to deliver crazy numbers every night and mostly resorts to shooting catch-and-shoot threes.

In the latest episode of Podcast P with Paul George, Klay reminisced about the career advice from a Warriors legend that changed his approach to the game.

In the episode, Klay talked about how he is still in awe of his teammate, Stephen Curry’s crazy handles and shooting ability. During Warriors workouts, Klay watches Steph do some insane drills to improve his skills, while Klay needs just 1-2 dribbles to get to his spot and let the ball fly. He expressed his desire to implement more dribbles in his game but remembered the advice of Warriors legend, Chris Mullin.

Klay revealed Mullin’s advice, “The less you dribble, the more effective you are.” Mullin was a 5-time all-star with the Warriors and a part of the legendary trio ‘Run TMC’ along with Mitch Richmond and Tim Hardaway. They wreaked havoc on the league under the leadership of Head Coach Don Nelson.

Mullin told Klay to follow his advice because that is how the legend dropped 40 on the Showtime Lakers. In Game 2 of the 1991 Western Conference Semifinal, Mullin dropped 41 points against Magic Johnson’s squad and upset the Lakers with a 125-124 victory.
