The former 3x NBA All-Star has been renowned for his big mouth and quirky comments. Because of this he even has a podcast of his own now where he interviews budding NBA stars and reviews match analysis. Recently on his podcast, he unintentionally remarked on an NBA star which left all the panelists in splits. He compared the Timberwolves’ shooting guard to the internet sensation, Andrew Tate.

As soon as the confusion subsided, the former NBA star quickly acknowledged his error. He admits he had believed they were discussing the Top G the entire time. His fellow panelists found the situation to be incredibly amusing and couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

The uncanny resemblance between Top G & Austin Rivers

On Gills Arena, Gilbert Arenas and his co-panelists were discussing the free agent Austin Rivers. They were talking about the comments made by Rivers about Damian Lillard’s trade request without mentioning his name. One panelist pointed out that Rivers keeps the camera very close to his face while talking on his podcast. And as none of the people took any names while discussing the matter, Arenas mistook Rivers for Andrew Tate.

While discussing Rivers’ clip, Arenas said, “I thought he was in jail”.

Arenas’ comments were surprising to everyone. Together they ask, “Austin Rivers?” To which Arenas replied, “Oh, I thought that was Andrew Tate”. After listening to this, all the panelists were really shocked and burst out laughing.

A panelist said, “Oh my god! That is not Andrew Tate, and he is not in jail anymore”. To which Arenas funnily replied, “Jail grows hair faster?”. Even in the end ‘just to make sure’ he asked everyone again, “So that’s not Andrew Tate?”

The similarity between Andrew Tate and Austin Rivers gives this humorous story a new twist. While Rivers is a professional basketball athlete having a successful career in the NBA; Andrew Tate gained popularity through his controversial statements and opinions. Despite their different fields of expertise, they share strikingly similar physical appearances.

What is Austin Rivers up to?

Austin Rivers is currently the point guard at Minnesota Timberwolves. His sister is married to Steph Curry’s brother, so he is the brother-in-law of the greatest shooter in the NBA.

He is still a free agent and has signed a one-year contract with Timberwolves. And recently he was suspended for 4 games due to an altercation during their match with Orlando Magic. The suspension included no pay because he threw punches at the Magic center Mo Bamba. Rivers even signed with The Ringer for podcast appearances.
