While the NBA world often addresses Jayson Tatum’s uncalled hate, it leaves out his teammate. There’s still no clarity on the reason behind the hate that JT receives despite the accolades he collected at 26. Similarly, Jaylen Brown, who is the reigning Finals MVP, has been subjected to unjustified hatred. However, the 28-year-old doesn’t need anyone’s help as he continues to stand up for himself.

Following Nike and Minnesota Timberwolves’ broadcasters’ fresh attacks, JB silenced them with an honest confession. Brown and Nike have had issues since 2022 when he decided to publicly call out the sneaker company amid the brand’s decision to terminate Kyrie Irving’s contract.

The Celtics star put out a tweet, writing, “Since when did Nike care about ethics?” Following that, the superstar and the sneaker brand had multiple back-and-forths.

Most recently, the Nike clapped back at Brown with a cheeky X post, writing, “Nothing childish about ’em. 59 for the Greek Freak” after he called Brown called the Bucks superstar “child” during a presser. In response, Brown reposted it, “Y’all got weird energy,” and even pinned it. While we put a pause to the conflict, JB had yet another issue with Wolves‘ broadcasters when they criticized long-range shooting, as he shot 5 threes in a row.

The superstar didn’t bother to hide his disdain. Jaylen Brown reposted the clip and wrote, “Hating a– broadcast lol,” via X. A reporter after the C’s win over the Clippers tonight picked up JB’s social media pattern and asked if hate motivated him. The star, in response, didn’t want to give any credit to his haters, saying, “I wouldn’t say it motivate me.”

Moreover, Brown went on to reason why he started reacting to hate, saying, “I’ve never said anything majority of my career I let people kind of create the narrative for me. I never talk, don’t smile. I kind of just let things be said.” However, that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore.

Jaylen Brown has a response issued to his haters

While Brown decided not to give credit to his haters, he indeed wanted to send out a message. It’s not the usual aggressive statement but a much subdued confession. Brown added, “This year, especially with people saying and trying to create narratives, I’m not marketable and all different other type of stuff I feel like it’s fair for me to just say something in return.”

Not to forget, the small beef that Stephen A. Smith and Jaylen Brown had when the veteran analyst called him an unmarketable player. In response, JB hit him back in his own style, writing, “State the source.” Moreover, the Celtics star even made it a victory anthem, slapping it on his parade shirt.

Above all, this isn’t the first time JB made such a statement. During his recent feature in Hot Ones, a unique podcast show, he said, “I don’t really do too many podcasts, too much talking, interviews, I rarely do them. So some of the narratives float and I allow them to float, but going forward, I look forward to clearing up some misconceptions.” And just like he said, the star has had a busy time with his social media handle.
