Although there are no decorations, the pine tree is not up and it’s not snowing outside, it somehow seems like it’s Christmas Day in Dallas. Why? In tonight’s crucial game against OKC, Kyrie Irving went deep into his bag and unleashed Uncle Drew mode, leading the Mavs to a 105-101 victory. On top of that, Irving brought back a nasty move that even reminded the Warriors fans, who are not even a part of the playoffs this year, of a haunting memory from eight years ago!

With Jalen Williams guarding Kyrie Irving one-on-one, the dribbling magician first took Williams inside the paint with a series of moves, then stopped on a dime, spun around, and hit a smooth mid-range jump shot over the OKC forward. Surprisingly, that move was eerily similar to Kyrie’s game-winning shot over Klay Thompson, many years ago on Christmas Day, when he was still playing alongside LeBron James in Cleveland.

With the shot clock turned off and the Cavs trailing by one point, Kyrie Irving hit an identical shot on Klay to give his team a one-point lead in the final seconds, sending the Cleveland fans into a frenzy. However, Klay did a much better job defending Kyrie during that play than Williams did tonight as the Warriors star had his hand all over the ball, whereas Williams was almost spun around by Kyrie’s masterful moves.

And that was not the only nasty move Kyrie recreated tonight. Hitting a dagger left-handed floater, again over Williams, to extend the Mavs’ lead to five points, Kyrie also reminded everyone of his insane left-handed game-winner over Nikola Jokic earlier this season.

Kyrie Irving’s sorcery leaves everyone jaw-dropped

As soon as Kyrie hit the spinning jump shot over Jalen Williams, the Warriors fans sitting at home instantly got flashbacks from 2016 and took to social media to express their shock. This Kevon Looney fan page tweeted after witnessing Kyrie’s sorcery, “That’s why I had PTSD from that shot… sh*t Brang back memories.”

Even this fan was reminded of the exact same moment from years ago and claimed that Kyrie is unstoppable when he goes into that zone. Arguably one of the most clutch playoff players of all time, Kyrie has hit countless amazing shots in pressure situations, including a game-winner in Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals, again against the Warriors.

This individual even complimented Kyrie Irving, saying that his move got even better with age. And maybe he is right, because the last time he hit that shot over Klay, he lost his balance and fell to the floor after the shot. Whereas this time, he easily landed on his feet and pedaled back on defense.

Mesmerized by Kyrie’s dribbling skills, this fan was happy to see him perform well and settle with the Mavs. Since Kyrie has left Cleveland, it has been hard for him to find a permanent home, bouncing around from one team to another. But watching him excel in the Mavs uniform shows that he might have finally found a new home.

When Kyrie was asked how he decided that it was time for him to take over, he said, “It’s just a feeling.” And the NBA World is glad that they are able to enjoy Kyrie in all his glory on the biggest stage.
