The Phoenix Suns have won 4 of their previous 6 games. While they lost 2 games against league leading Boston Celtics in the stretch, they managed a 117-107 win against the defending champions. Moreover, in their latest win against the Charlotte Hornets, the team displayed a cohesive spark, while holding the Hornets below 100 points. Along with all their starters, a total of 6 players posted double-digit scoring. Additionally, their backcourt of Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal and Devin Booker combined for just 49 points, leaving plenty of room for the remaining roster to shine.
With that, Bradley Beal, without putting a label, displayed a sentiment mix of positivity and uncertainty. When probed about the team’s unified surge, Beal said, “I don’t really know how to put it into words. We’re progressing in the way we need to.” Moreover, Beal shows an optimistic stance despite a delay in the roster’s dominance, saying, “It’s probably not as fast as everybody would’ve liked it to be, but we’re definitely making it work and figuring it out on the fly.”

Moreover, Beal resonates the importance their backcourt tapping into a “playoff-mentality“. However, he also radiates an understanding of the dynamicity of the post-season; one that demands teams to put their best foot forward each moment. With that, Beal ends the interview saying, “Let the ball bounce how it bounces,” highlighting the Suns approach of going with the flow and trusting their talents to maneuver on the run.

Bradley Beal’s impact on the Suns’ big-three
Certainly not as evident as James Harden, Bradley Beal still diversifies the offensive skill set of his two backcourt partners. Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, apart from elite ISO players, are great shooters in general. This includes spot-ups, corners and catch-and-shoots. However, given the layers of defense against them, the two usually find themselves orchestrating the offense, more than waiting for the ball and sink it on their high clip.
With Beal in the picture, the two snipers get ample time to play off ball, ultimately getting more shots up in a game. KD is taking nearly 20 shots per game this season, compared to little over 18 in the 2022-23 season. Moreover, he has also seen a slight increase in his 3-pt attempts, which is anticipated to grow as Beal appears on the court more consistently.

On the other hand, Book’s production does not see much change. However, his scoring stays close to previous two seasons. However, he is shooting the three better than the last season, and matching a career high of 6.8 assists per game.
