Hype in most cases remains nothing more than the vacuous word that it represents. But sometimes, very rarely, it beckons the arrival of something special. And this could be one of those moments. Devin Booker’s post on his Instagram insinuates the otherworldly talent that the Phoenix Suns possess on their roster. Thus, if it has a Spiderman reference, so be it.

Matt Ishbia, who bought this Phoenix club last year, has gone to great lengths to strengthen this team in the pursuit of a championship. Now it is incumbent on the team to deliver on the promise.

Devin Booker had posted a video on Instagram that displays 3 spidermen bolting through the sky and perching on a structure. This short clip was from the movie Spider-Man: No Way Home. And he is right, and that is the correct reference to the Phoenix Suns team that has Kevin Duran, Bradley Beal, and him. These three players are some of the purest scorers that this league has ever seen. They can scorch any team in their individual capacity, but they find in each other’s company. And just like his Instagram post, this Suns team has the potential to swoop through the NBA-verse.

The Suns began their preseason by beating the Detroit Pistons. The three superstars took part in this game and left early with double figures. It was just an obligatory win for the Suns, who now have an impressive roster. Off-season additions like Eric Gordon, Jusuf Nurkic, and Yuta Watanabe give them more depth and experience and enhance their shot at the title.

KD’s Legacy

Kevin Durant has won two titles with the Warriors. His joining the Dubs literally made them unbeatable. If not for his injury during the finals against Toronto, he would have won his third title along with his third finals’ MVP award. But that was not meant to be. During his run with the Dubs, he had Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson for company on the scoring front. While, Draymond Green and Iguodala provided the depth and defense. Though he garnered all the accolades, he also had to face condescension throughout his stint with the Bay Area team.

This is KD’s tryst with destiny. If he leads the Suns to a championship, he will accomplish what Charles Barkley and Chris Paul could not. And more than anything, it will make the fans forget about his stint with the Brooklyn Nets.
