Draymond Green has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons this season. The player who signed a 4-year extension worth $100 million in 2023 has only played 15 games this season. That is because Green was suspended by the league for getting into physical altercations with his opponents. Not only that but these suspensions have caused some financial ramifications for the Dubs player.

And due to being suspended on numerous occasions in his career, the total burden of fines crosses $4 million. So, how many times has Draymond Green been suspended this season and when will he be back now?

According to a report from Sportac, Draymond Green has forfeited $4,087,073 through fines and suspensions throughout his career. And the biggest chunk of this came from just this season. On December 12th, Green received a 12-game ban for striking the Phoenix Suns star Jusuf Nurkic. The league suspended him under the context of a “repeated history of unsportsmanlike acts,” as this has happened in the past. Prior to this suspension, he received a 5-game ban for putting Rudy Gobert a Minnesota Timberwolves player in a chokehold.

These actions have financially cost him $1.9 million for the missed 12 games and an additional $769,704 for the Gobert incident. The 33-year-old star expressed his sorrow and promised to adhere to the league’s rules and restrictions. So the NBA now will closely monitor his actions and will make sure he has severe consequences if such actions are repeated in the future. He will return to action tonight as the Warriors face the Toronto Raptors.

Currently out of all the active players this season in the league, DrayMagic holds the record for the most amount of ejections i.e. 19. Adding to this is the fact that he is not looking like his usual self this season and has only averaged 9.7 points, 5.8 assists, and 5.5 rebounds per game. If this continues, the 4x NBA All-Star would be a liability rather than an asset for his franchise. Speaking about the franchise, how have the Warriors been playing this season?

Only a miracle can save the declining Warriors

At the beginning of the season, the Golden State Warriors were in top form. However, as the season progressed they suffered multiple losses and are struggling to maintain their dominance in the league. In their latest match against the Nuggets, the Warriors had an 18-point lead in the final minutes, but even then lost 130-127. This happened to be the fourth time the Dubs had an 18+ point lead against their opponent but choked in the final minutes of the game and suffered a loss.
