Adding over 30 points in two consecutive triumphant games, Smith surely is going the extra mile for Houston. In fact, he also agreed to stay in Houston for 4 more years after getting drafted last year.

Amid Smith’s Summer League exploits, a recent update has broken down the star’s projected earnings during his stay in Houston.

During the Houston Rockets Summer League opener, they clinched a dramatic win against the Trail Blazers. Thanks to Jabari Smith Jr.’s game-high 33 points and his buzzer-beating three-pointer that had won the game for the Texan side.

In the Rockets’ next game, Jabari got even better. The 20-year-old netted a game-high 38 points and propelled his team’s win against the Pistons.

Hoopshype.com has recently explored how the Rockets plan to reward Smith for his services. According to them, Smith is projected to earn $9.3 million during the 2023-24 season from his four-year deal with the Rockets. He will also get an upping in the 24-25 season, as they expect him to earn around $9.8 million.

Things will become even better for the NBA star in the 25-26 season, as a $12.3 million paycheck awaits the Rockets forward. Additionally, he also has received a qualifying offer worth $16.2 million from Houston.

The Locksmith’s recent responses and his stint in the Summer League indicate that he got plans to have a long and fruitful stay in Houston. Perhaps this very Summer League outing is a move from Smith’s side to raise his own game.

Jabari on buckling up for the ongoing Summer League

Jabari entered the NBA as last year’s third overall pick and made it to the All-Rookie second team. However, the 20-year-old has not overlooked the fact that his team had an underwhelming campaign during his rookie season. Therefore, a determined Smith joined the Summer League roster.

“My rookie year wasn’t perfect, so why not get out here and get reps, play with my new teammates and coaches,” said Smith, diving deeper into his decision to play in the Summer League.
