George signed a four-year, $211.6 million deal in July 2024, making him one of the league’s top-paid players. His first year with the Sixers, which is 2024-25, will be a cap hit of $49.2 million. Now this marks a significant portion of the team’s salary cap, but it underscores his importance to the franchise. Over the next few years, in the 2025-26 and 2026-27 seasons, he will earn $51.7 million and $54.1 million, respectively. Now that’s a huge rise! This deal also comes with a player option. It will activate in 2027, which allows him the flexibility to opt out. This gives him control over his future should the 76ers or his career aspirations change.
