A team struggling just three weeks into the season should raise a lot of red flags. Especially a one that has been known to be the best, like the Golden State Warriors. They are not in the best position right now with just six wins from eleven games. But the bigger concern about the Dubs is the performance of its star players.
Stephen Curry is has been leading from the fore-front with no proper support from his teammates. And now, he has to miss the upcoming games due to the injury he sustained at their previous outing against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Earlier today, it was reported that Golden State Warriors’ guard will sit out tonight’s match due to the sprain on his right knee. While confirmation on the injury and timetable is still awaited, it was said he “is not expected to miss much time”. Further explanation into his recovery was provided by Dr. Rajpal Brar, doctor in physical therapy who added that the injury could be a knee ligament. He also added that it was hard to determine the severity of the injury because of the short recovery time provided by the reports.
Latest on Steph Curry. Sprain implies a knee ligament. “Not much time” is subjective so hard to say anything about severity at this point. #nba #Warriors https://t.co/lLb8xlLqWk

Steph has been playing at an MVP level since the start of the season. He is the third in offensive leaders this season with an average of 30.7 points. His best was against New Orleans when he put up 42 points with five rebounds and five assists. Through this season, Curry has been consistently scoring over 20 points, the only player to do so amongst the Warriors. With him on the bench, the other players must step up to break their losing streak.
Who will lead the Warriors now?
With Chef on the sidelines, the expectations fall on veterans Draymond Green and Chris Paul to take over the reins. Chris Paul could be pumped up from the bench to the starting line-up. While he has played every game this season, his points have been a career-low of just 8.2 on average and he is shooting another career-low 36.8% from the field. This was expected, since he would need time to acclimate himself to the team. But now he would be required to step up and save the Warriors from their prickly situation right now.
After the previous loss, Green shared the blame with his teammates and assured them that he would do better in today’s game. Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins who’ve both had a slow start to the season, must rise to the task and help the team redeem themselves and avoid any more losses.

At 35, the guard is still at his best posting incredible numbers. But that is not to say that he hasn’t seen the worst as well. In the initial stages of his career, Curry struggled to remain healthy. He played just 26 games in the 2011-12 season and the biggest worry point was his weak ankle. Over the course of time, Stephen has worked on his training to strengthen his muscles.
But, as he gets older, the load Steph can take on himself is also reducing. In the past three seasons, the number of games he has played has been going down. The lowest in recent times was last year Curry only played 56 games due to injuries in his ankles, shoulders, and hip. Earlier, in October, he did have a foot injury scare but recovered quickly enough to not miss any game. But now, with this knee sprain, fans are worried once again about their Golden Boy’s health.
