Being the oldest player on the Celtics roster, Al Horford holds an image of a veteran leader who is only focused on the game and winning his first ring. But having been a part of the league for seventeen long years, he has had his fair share of fun over the course of his career. And apart from him helping his team reach the finals, Horford recently made the headlines after fans found out about his surprising fifteen-year-old collaboration with famous singer Ciara.
Leaving everyone in shock, Horford made a small cameo in the music video of Ciara’s 2009 song ‘Never Ever’. And the song that currently has over eighty-four million hits on YouTube even featured rapper Jeezy. At the time, Horford was only in the third year of his career and playing for the Atlanta Hawks. While Ciara and Al don’t share any relationship, maybe she asked him to be in the video because both Ciara and Jeezy lived in Atlanta and Horford was the upcoming star in that city.
While Horford was on the screen for merely a few seconds, he did have an important role in the video. In the scene set up in a club, Horford approaches the singer and then the two start dancing together, making Ciara’s boyfriend jealous. Wearing a white sweater vest with a scarf around his neck, Horford’s appearance in the video really grabbed fans’ attention at the time. But fifteen years later, most had forgotten about Horford and Ciara’s collaboration, that is until Al’s own sister hilariously resurfaced the video during these playoffs.

Al Horford’s sister pokes fun at him for Ciara collab
As the Celtics were playing the fifth game of the East Semis, hoping to the eliminate the Cavs with a gentleman sweep, Ciara made an appearance at the TD Garden with her husband NFL star Russell Wilson and their son. While fans did not make much of her appearance at the game, Horford’s sister, Anna saw it as an opportunity to poke fun at her brother. Sharing a screenshot from the music video that Al and Ciara worked together in, Anna tweeted, “Someone ask her about this music video.” Followed by a laughing emoji.

And Anna’s tweet got the fans digging and resurfacing the fifteen-year-old video. However, the tweet or Ciara’s presence at the game did not faze Al at all as he had his best game of the playoffs so far. Going off for 22 points that night and draining six three pointers, Horford led his team to victory and into the next round. Maybe it was the presence of his former partner in the arena that got Horford the extra motivation to ball out in that game.
