Austin Reaves, the young star in the Lakers right now, is showing no signs of slowing down on the court. He is taking the scene by storm, alongside LeBron James, becoming a huge asset to the Lakers. We have been aware of the fact that the 25-year-old had signed a deal with the Chinese shoe brand Rigorer earlier this year in June.
A recent update on the deal revealed that he extended the contract with the giant company which would promote him to a part-owner of the business, along with pocketing a seven-figure amount per year. We can’t help but compare this sweet deal with Stephen Curry‘s revamped deal with Under Armour, the brand that represents him.

Steph Curry has been with UA since 2013, which started as a $4 million package per annum. Earlier this year, the two parties reworked the contract, promoting the Golden Boy to the President of UA’s Curry Brand. Currently, Steph’s $215 million contract with the brand includes equity ownership in the business. Together, Steph and Under Armour have introduced ten signature shoe lines as part of their collaboration so far.
Here’s an interesting fact for you: Steph is the only athlete to have reached this number in the history of the brand. Well, it looks like Steph’s numbers are way ahead of Reaves’ in terms of their respective deals. Considering this is Reaves’ initial stages with Rigorer, we can expect his numbers to ramp up in no time.
Steph’s contract with UA will last beyond his career
Although we are not yet aware of Steph’s contract details with UA apart from the fact that it is worth $215 million, the contract ensures a long-term contract with the brand beyond his career. In addition to assuming the Presidentship role of UA’s Curry Brand, Steph will be involved in developing new products for basketball, golf, women, and youth.

As for Reaves, this is probably just the beginning of his long and fruitful partnership with the Chinese brand Rigorer, as he takes on a very important role for the Lakers. While his current numbers are leagues apart from Steph’s, we cannot be deterred from the fact that the Dub Nation‘s star is a seasoned player in the business while Reaves is a novice.
