The top 10 all time list is a question that has intrigued the NBA world for years. However, there may not be a definitive answer to this question as it is based completely on perspective. Several names may come up in the debate but two names that automatically find themselves in most people’s list are LeBron James and Kobe Bryant. Their contribution to the NBA has truly elevated them to legendary status.
LeBron James and Kobe Bryant have cemented their place in the basketball Hall of Fame through their innumerable accomplishments. They have had exemplary careers in the NBA, making the world witness their greatness. Due to their remarkable resume, their names barely miss out in anyone’s top ten all time list. However, an NBA legend of a similar stature snubbed both of them from his list. This confused several fans, including the Atlanta Hawks star guard, Trae Young.

Trae Young has been thoroughly enjoying his time off NBA action. His offseason has been filled with exciting moments throughout. His shoe deal, podcast and most recently, his wedding has truly made the 2 time All-Star’s offseason one for the ages. However, he has also been very active on Twitter during his time off.

In a recent tweet, the Philadelphia 76ers legend Julius Erving named his top ten all time list. On his list, Dr. J seemed to have made some questionable picks. This peaked the interest of Trae Young.
Erving chose to snub one of his fiercest rivals, Larry Bird from his list. He also named some unusual players like Karl Malone and Nate “Tiny” Archibald in his list. However, his biggest snubs were the Los Angeles Lakers legends, LeBron James and Kobe Bryant. Erving’s controversial choices had Young in disbelief. He tweeted about the list, saying “This gotta be fake..#WithAllDueRespect“.
The Hawks point guard called cap on the list but Erving may have had his reasons for making these choices.
Dr. J may have a strong argument
Julius Erving is definitely one of the greatest to ever wear the Sixers uniform. The 11 time NBA All Star had his dominance in the league even before the NBA-ABA merger. Known for his flashy presence above the rim, Erving left an indelible mark on the NBA. He was naturally inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame for his extraordinary achievements. However, he played in the league for 16 years, much before James and Bryant arrived in the league.

Dr. J was a perennial superstar in the NBA back in the 1970s and 80s. He closely watched several players in his top ten all time list compete in their prime. He also played against several players in his list and witnessed their greatness from up close. This was probably why he named these players in his list, snubbing the modern day legends, James and Bryant.
When asked about James’ inclusion in the list, the 73 year old mentioned that James has not finished his career yet. “Everybody I named in there, their career’s finished, right? LeBron, Steph….let them get finished,” he told Joy De’Angela.
