Michael Jordan was a phenomenon from the moment he stepped onto the court. even his shoes a sensation from the moment they were launched. Jordan signed with Nike in 1984 as a Chicago Bulls rookie, knowing nothing about the commercial success he was bound to achieve.  Air Jordan has become the most iconic shoe in the world since its launch. LeBron James too, struck a historic deal with Nike in his rookie year. The Chosen One has grown to become the first active NBA player to achieve the billionaire status, due in large part, to his deal with Nike. However, despite the incredible success of his shoe line, it may not have been as iconic as the Air Jordans.

Jordan’s trainer, Tim Grover used this very detail to take a jab at The King.

“We’ve all heard stories about individuals getting robbed for their Jordans. Have you ever heard a story of anyone getting stuck for a pair of Brons?” asked Grover.

However, he received heavy backlash from veteran NBA analyst Nick Wright.

Nick Wright slams Grover’s claim

Michael Jordan certainly owns the most iconic shoe line in the world. Despite the success of James’ shoe line, they are no match for the glorious Air Jordans. However, the GOAT debate is about basketball supremacy and not shoe line greatness. This was what Nick Wright tried to explain on the show First Things First.

“I think there’s a piece of – …folks who cut their teeth in the ’90s, who are just… – there’s a romanticization… of that era of basketball. I think… (it) wasn’t that great of an era for basketball,” he boldly claimed.
