After the way last night’s Celtics vs. Hornets encounter ended, fans cannot wait for tonight’s rematch. Yes, the team in Green got an easy win on the road. But that was more or less an expected outcome. What caught everyone’s attention was Grant Williams’ hard foul on Jayson Tatum toward the end of the game which led to his ejection. Sure enough, tensions will be high as they face each other again tonight. And there might be a few returning stars joining in on the action.
As per the Celtics’ injury report, Kristaps Porzingis is going to remain out. Obviously, he has been dealing with a foot injury that he suffered during the NBA Finals and there is no set timeline for his return so far. However, Al Horford, who missed yesterday’s game due to load management is on a day-to-day status. Well, he has played in five of the six games so far and is averaging over nine points. And the Cs could use his size and veteran experience to grab another win tonight.
Apart from this, the rest of the lineup is likely to remain the same for the visitors. On the other hand, the Hornets have an empty injury report so far. Yes, the biggest question is Brandon Miller’s availability because he has been out since the season opener with a glute sprain. However, he was upgraded to ‘questionable’ before getting ruled out last night, and there are expectations that the high flyer could make his return tonight. Surely, that will be a huge boost for his team as Miller averaged 17.3 points last season and adds more firepower to the squad. But with no update so far, he might be unavailable yet again.

Meanwhile, Mark Williams has not made an appearance this season because of a left foot strain. Another addition to that list is Nick Richards. Unfortunately, he left last night’s game mid-way after injuring his shoulder. The status of both stars is yet to be announced, which means they might be unavailable.

With Porzingis out and Horford’s availability yet to be determined, here is what the Celtics’ depth chart looks like:
Positions | Starters | 2nd | 3rd |
PG | Jrue Holiday | Payton Pritchard | JD Davison |
SG | Derrick White | Jaden Springer | Kristaps Porzingis (Out) |
SF | Jaylen Brown | Jordan Walsh | Baylor Scheierman |
PF | Jayson Tatum | Sam Hauser | Xavier Tillman Sr. |
C | Al Horford (DD) | Luke Cornet | Neemias Queta |
Well, if Al does play, he will return to his starting role as a Center. Otherwise, that responsibility will likely fall on Luke Cornet, like it did last night. Meanwhile, the Hornets might need to make some adjustments after the loss and this is what their depth chart looks like:

Positions | Starters | 2nd | 3rd |
PG | LaMelo Ball | Tre Mann | Vasilije Micic |
SG | Seth Curry | Jared Rhoden | KJ Simpson |
SF | Josh Green | Cody Martin | Nick Smith Jr. |
PF | Miles Bridges | Tidjane Salaun | Moussa Diabate |
C | Nick Richards | Grant Williams | Taj Gibson |
Obviously, a lot will depend on Richards and Miller’s availability. If Richards remains out with the shoulder issue, Grant Williams could see an increase in minutes as the Hornets are short on big men. And that will be interesting to see because of last night’s bad blood between Williams and Tatum. Which team do you think will come out on top this time?
