The Charlotte Hornets pulled up a dramatic victory last night against the Indiana Pacers. The win was due to a last-second basket by LaMelo Ball, shocking the Pacers, who otherwise thought to have won the match. Though he scored only 11 points, with 11 assists, and 2 rebounds, the last-moment basket is memorable. The Hornets and the Pacers are 8th and 7th placed teams respectively, in the Eastern Conference.

The Hornets are playing another match on consecutive night, this time against the Dallas Mavericks. Will LaMelo Ball play tonight opposite Luka Doncic, after the last match’s heroics?

Ball has recovered from the fractured ankle and is showing promising gameplay. The Hornets facing the Mavs without an impact player like Ball is not really expected. Especially when he has recovered and not suffering from any injury. There was a question raised, chiefly due to him being injury-prone.

Hornets race this season

LaMelo, however, was not very impressive against the Pacers at the beginning. According to coach Steve Clifford, the consistency of playing the entire 48 minutes of an NBA game has been the primary reason the team slipped again in the standings. He said, “What we haven’t done, we haven’t started well. You’ve got to play 48 minutes in this league. The effort has been good, but playing hard in this league is not enough. Playing hard gives you a chance, especially a team like we have. But we’ve got to be purposeful from the beginning, and it’s been different things different nights.”
