Millionaire entrepreneur and Jamaican native Ayesha Curry is very outspoken about her roots. Her beauty-skincare brand, Sweet July Skin, is an homage to exactly that. Ayesha and her husband, Stephen Curry, are all about challenging themselves to be the best versions of themselves. Not happy with being simply known as the wife of a famous NBA player, Ayesha has always been on the lookout to carve out her niche.

And she did. Ayesha has donned many hats in her lifetime. Actress, Author, Entrepreneur, Philanthropist, and Influencer – to name a few. Her latest achievement is a wine business with Sydel Lee-Curry, sister of Stephen Curry. Again, Ayesha has proven herself to be a force to reckon with.

Going back to honoring Ayesha’s Jamaican roots, she’s blowing up her Instagram feed with the latest post. Treating her 8 million fans to a custom-designed hand-crocheted dress that “boldly” represents her culture, Ayesha has been getting a lot of fan love. And who else to take home the award, but Rachel Scott?

The Jamaican-native designer won the ‘Shop With Google American Emerging Designer of the Year’ award at the CFDA. Yet another win for the successful Black women of America. It is no wonder that Ayesha would look to Rachel for a Jamaican-inspired gown to wear. Scott’s entire designs always have a touch of her home country in them.

And with Mrs. Curry on her path of honoring her roots, this would come as a natural extension of the same. But Ayesha did not move down this path before trying her hand at several other professions earlier in life.

Ayesha had tried her hand in Hollywood before settling down with Stephen Curry

Like many teenagers, Ayesha Curry also had a past where she wanted to be a glamorous actress in Hollywood. She would have made a fine one too. Her first appearance on the silver screen was at age 12. She played the role of a love interest in the music video “Too Young for Love” by Sevn Thomas, a Canadian record producer, songwriter, and singer. But it was only the beginning for a young Ayesha Alexander.

After graduating high school, Ayesha moved to LA solely to focus on her acting career. Initially appearing in cameo roles, she finally hit it with Hannah Montana as Andrea and the 2010 sitcom, Good Luck Charlie. 

It was the last time she would appear as an actress because 2011 was the year she got married to her high school sweetheart, Stephen Curry. But it was not the last she would appear in front of a camera. September 20, 2017, was the day she was chosen as the model for CoverGirl. It was a special day, as she would become the first face who was not an actress, singer, or influencer. Keep in mind that Ayesha was just starting to make her mark on the world.

Since then, she has modeled in a variety of situations.
