Is Steph Curry's leadership enough to steer the Warriors back to glory amidst Lakers rumors?

Dub Nation is worried! “Same Team…Winning Team,” posting a picture from the Olympics in collaboration with LeBron James and removing ‘guard for the Warriors’ from his bio, Stephen Curry’s recent social media activity has sparked heartbreaking rumors of a potential move to the Lakers to join forces with LBJ. However, the Splash Brother does not seem too bothered by what’s being said as he has already begun prep for next season. Amidst the uncertainty, he echoed his longtime performance coach’s hoops wisdom.

While there is over a month left for the training camp to begin, it looks like Steph is already in the lab working on his game as he posted a picture with his multiple skills coaches on Instagram. With the Olympic Gold around his neck, he captioned it with veteran coach Brandon Payne’s advice, “Precision and holding yourself accountable, every shot matters. There’s no such thing as a wasted rep…”

Sure enough, Steph clearly resonates with this mantra, which has made him the best shooter in the world. He has a great relationship with Payne and they’ve been working together for several years. Interestingly, in an image posted by the coach, Steph even let him wear his prestigious gold medal!

“Proud doesn’t begin to describe the feelings I have in this picture. @stephencurry30 has worked so hard over the last 15 years to make himself one of the greatest players to ever play this game,” Payne wrote, calling it one of the proudest moments of his career.

More importantly, even though Steph Curry is 36, there are no signs of him slowing down, as he still has the same work ethic that got him to this level of greatness. But will he continue to dominate with the Warriors or suit up in Purple and Gold?

Have an interesting take?

With Steph and LeBron wreaking havoc as teammates in Paris, the entire basketball community is hoping to see them team up at least once more before they retire. However, that would mean either one of them leaving their current team. Moreover, the move is possible as both stars will enter free agency at the same time two years from now. Although it seems criminal to even imagine Steph playing somewhere outside the Bay Area, the Lakers’ move might come under consideration if GSW has another disappointing season.

However, GM Mike Dunleavy Jr. has faith in the Baby-Faced Assassin as he recently said, “I think Steph will be I’d say, pretty confident he’ll be a Warrior for life.” And even Steph expressed the same desire in a recent interview, “I’ve always said I want to be a Warrior for life. At this stage in my career, I feel like that’s possible.”

Steph Curry also has a chance to end all concerns as he is eligible to sign a one-year $62.6 million extension this summer before opening night. But if he chooses to wait another year, he could sign a more lucrative two-year $130 million deal. As long as the Splash Brother stays in the Bay Area, Dunleavy is ready to give him “whatever he wants” on his deal. So, the decision will entirely depend on how the sharpshooter wants to finish his career.
