Getting into the NBA isn’t the easiest of tasks for any youngster. Even if he makes it to the league, it’s hard to stay at the top of one’s game for a long time, soaking in all the trash talk aimed at him. Notably, New Orleans Pelicans‘ sophomore star Dyson Daniels is no beginner to ‘giving it back’ on the court. The Australian baller, who was shaken by the intensity of Kevin Durant and Co., shared a glimpse into his experience of being out there in the chaos. The 21-year-old star joined The Howie Games, discussing his 2-season-long running stint when Mark Howard, the host, asked about the trash-talk experience on the court, putting the youngster on the spot.

Daniels, who was reluctant initially, said, “I don’t know if we can repeat it on here… It’s a lot of swear words.” But, once Howard gave him the swear pass, the ex-Pels star jumped right into the story. He reminisced about the moment KD came at him. He added, “KD, he was in the post and he was talking to me. He’s telling me what he’s going to do…”

“He’s going to hit a turnaround fader and he did it, he’s like, ‘hold this motherf**ker,'” the youngster added. It instantaneously left Howard in splits. Then he went on to ask Daniels if he gave back anything to the Slim Reaper as a return gift. Unfortunately, the sophomore star didn’t get the opportunity to have a go at the superstar. The Pels star added, “I’m usually sitting in the corner, waiting for my opportunity, but I would love to get involved in more trash talk.” Notably, Daniels has played three games against KD in his career. And he has come off the bench on all three occasions, averaging 21 minutes on the floor.

Will Dyson Daniels seek his revenge against Kevin Durant?

Well, there are a lot of possibilities for the Aussie to seek his revenge. The Phoenix Suns superstar has a few more seasons left on his deal and Daniels could also move up to the starting lineup in the coming years. At the same time, Durant isn’t afraid of taking a tinge of his own medicine from a youngster. During the Suns’ postseason run against the Timberwolves, KD had a taste of his own medicine. Anthony Edwards went after his childhood idol throughout the series.

Importantly, the visuals of Ant-Man trash-talking to KD after dropping a three-pointer over him left the NBA world in disbelief. The superstar had nothing but a smirk on his face. Moreover, after the series sweep, Durant and Edwards had a wholesome moment on the court, before the 2x NBA Champ headed to the locker room. Maybe in the future, the NBA world could witness a similar moment between Daniels and KD.

Apart from the superstar, the sophomore star also revealed that he had experienced trash-talk from Patrick Beverley, Devin Booker, and Draymond Green. Speaking of D-Book, he said that he would “talk a lot”. The youngster nudged Booker in the back on the court, in April. It led to a slight confrontation with a few words shared between the two until the referees intervened. Eventually, both of them were handed technical fouls and Devon was handed an offensive foul too for running into Zion Williamson, which started the whole incident. So Dyson Daniels can seek revenge against two stars at the same time when he faces the Suns next time.
