The NBA superstar’s mother showcased that side of her while watching her son’s achievements in an Apple TV documentary.

The 57-year-old went through an emotional rollercoaster witnessing the film on the Golden State Warriors star. Reflecting on her experience, she revealed insights into her approach to watching her son.

In an episode of Foster and Friends, she talked in depth about the Apple TV documentary Stephen Curry: Underrated. “It’s a good one. It’s on Apple right now,” she highlighted before discussing her feelings of viewing her oldest child in a movie. As a mother, she could not hold herself back throughout the entirety of the film.

She went through a range of emotions, “from cheering to buzzing to clapping to crying,” Sonya let her sentiments run wild. At the same time, she displayed a certain level of respect for the 4-time NBA champion while watching the film. “It’s my son, but I don’t see him in things like that as my son,” she stated to explain her point of view.

Sonya went to “a place of fan and admiration,” while she sat and took a walk down memory lane. Experiencing her son’s struggles in a documentary, Mother Curry became a supporter of him all over again. She then quickly pointed out Stephen’s approach to reaching his goals, sharing a glimpse of the winner’s mindset.

She emphasized the “process vs. product” belief to prosper in life in any field of work. Sonya mentioned that her son never thought of reaching these heights, but rather focused solely on his actions. “Giving all that he had…got the product that he never even imagined,” she stated while talking about Stephen’s frame of mind.
