Yet another missed practice this Wednesday by the Beard. James Harden, after resorting to his $35.6 million option for the 2023-24 season, chose to stick with the Philadelphia 76ers. However, being a now-show at practice again brings the ?Daryl Morey? issue to the fore.

With the final preseason game against the Atlanta Hawks, even the new head coach, Nick Nurse, is ready to give the team a green signal if the ?notorious? player doesn’t show up. However, the question arises: Once the friendly relationship between Harden and Morey had gone sour. So, what changed?

From Friends to Foes: James Harden?s Changed Dynamic

It is astonishing to see the reason behind James Harden?s entry into the franchise and then the request to be traded. Apparently, it was the Sixers’ president, Daryl Morey, who vouched for the former MVP back in 2022, but the dynamic has indeed taken a 180.

In a recent video surfaced on Stephen A. Smith’s YouTube channel, he is seen making some unraveling statements about the Harden- Morey friendship status. He said: ?Now my attitude was regardless of all of that Daryl Morey took care of James Harden for the better part of 10 years. They grew together in Houston. James got what he wanted. If he wanted a pedicure and manicure, Daryl Morey would have gave it to him.??

He continued: ?Personally would have given him a massage if he wanted it. To hell, they might have cuddled I mean.? Well, that?s a statement enough to explain the dynamic of their friendship back when Morey pushed in a request to acquire James Harden from the Nets.

If this is the case, then why is Harden so adamant about the trade request?

Move to the LA Clippers; James Harden in a Forever Fude

First, the trade from OKC Thunder, because Morey was GM with the Rockets, then the shift to the Brooklyn Nets, and finally landing up with the Philadelphia 76ers under the presidency of Morey?all were planned moves. It seems like Harden wrapped Morey around his fingers in the early years.

However, the erratic demand made by Harden to be traded to the Clippers upset the momentum of the friendship. Although the PG has exercised his 2023?24 player option, he seems unsatisfied with the conduct of the president.
