Darvin Ham, the current head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers is entering his second year with the team. Previously, he worked as an assistant coach for the Milwaukee Bucks under Mike Budenholzer. During his tenure with the Bucks for five seasons (2018-2022), the team won the Championship once in 2021.

With the Bucks, Ham was mostly in charge of player development. He helped Giannis Antetokounmpo become one of the finest players in the NBA while also assisting Khris Middleton, and Brook Lopez of the Bucks in realizing their full potential. And now, he has something to say about the new additions made to the team.

Although he may have moved on, Ham still holds the Bucks in high regard. He said, “I’m happy for that franchise. That franchise means the world to me. I’m not sitting here without several people within that franchise.”

Commenting on Damian Lillard joining the team and Holiday being traded he explained, “I know it probably hurt them to lose Jrue, but to get Dame in there, that’s going to be a hell of a one-two punch.”

He also added that with Khris, Brook, Pat Connaughton, and Bobby Portis on the team, “it’ll be interesting to see how it all comes together.” Ham acknowledged that these are the type of players who work their butts off to make sure everything comes together. Therefore, it would mean an additional effort to try and match up with them.

Bucks face-off with Lakers

It looks like Darvin’s opinion on the Bucks and his work with the Lakers will be put to the test soon. Both teams will meet for a Preseason match on 15th October. It is a time for the Bucks management to assess how their biggest investment during the off-season will benefit them.

Fans and commentators will also be keenly watching how Lillard and Antetokounmpo will be able to find harmony and chemistry. They have an uphill task of bringing back the championship once again.
