Miami Heat president Pat Riley burst all the bubbles. Amid the intense season in the NBA world, Jimmy Butler makes it to the news every odd day. It’s not only been for his performances on the court but also the exploding trade rumors. Heading into the season, JB had many franchise owners’ eyes set on him, as the Heat didn’t extend his contract in the off-season. Moreover, the hoopster missed a stretch of games too, and he is said to be missing more game time, citing an illness… Amid the dicey situation, Riley broke the silence.

When Jimmy Butler was listed out, citing an illness, most refused to believe it. Fans considered it a cover-up for the growing tension between him and the front office. However, all the claims have come to a close with a new update from Shot Coverage’s Rob Peterson.

Firstly, the illness “was 100 percent real” per 5ReasonsSports. Secondly and most importantly, “I’ve heard that Miami is considering (more than ever) potentially extending Jimmy, nothing official as of yet, just something I’ve heard— will have more on this later.”

Notably, neither Jimmy Butler nor Pat Riley have given the slightest hint regarding their decision about the extension. However, the hoopster had made a promising statement on media day, saying, “I guess I’ve got to go and hoop… I’ve got to prove that I am a major part of winning and rightfully so. I’ve done it before. This is no different. … That will take care of itself.”

While he’s missed 8 games this season already, Butler seems to have made Pat Riley happy in some way. A few days ago, amid the rumors, the President dropped a statement: “We usually don’t comment on rumors, but all this speculation has become a distraction to the team and is not fair to the players and coaches… Therefore, we will make it clear – we are not trading Jimmy Butler.”

So, the burning trade questions have temporarily come to an end. The Phoenix Suns fans, though, already had their hopes raised ever since Jimmy Butler sported orange dreadlocks.
